Day 1: Monday, September 30
After crossing into Canada, we check into The Sheraton Fallsview Hotel. Along with the great views, the hotel is ideally located for exploring the region!
Dinner tonight is at Table Rock -with amazing views of the Falls. Every evening the Falls are lit with a colorful exciting light show – called the Illumination. Enjoy!
Day 2: Tuesday, October 1
After a delightful breakfast at our hotel, we will meet our local guide, for a full day of touring.
Grab your poncho as you board the Niagara City Cruise and enjoy this thrilling ride up to the falls!
Next we will enjoy a driving and walking tour around Niagara Falls, Ontario. The tour will include Honeymoon Bridge and the Floral Clock with a stop at Table Rock to view Horseshoe Falls and The Whirlpool.
Lunch will be on our own in Niagara-on-the-Lake with time to walk around and explore the eclectic shops and galleries in this charming Historic District. The afternoon includes a docent guided visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum, which holds one of Ontario’s most important historical collections.
At Fort George National Historic Site, we will tour through the 19th century military architecture, including the Artificers Shop, Guard House, and the Powder Magazine – the oldest military building in Ontario. Experience the sounds of the Fife & Drums Corps and witness musket and artillery demonstrations.
The Niagara region is known for their wineries and our next stop is Peller Estates Winery, one of the regions very best! Our tour starts with a glass of sparkling wine in the backyard, followed by a descent into the underground barrel cellar and then into the 10Below Ice Wine Lounge (warm coats provided).
Dinner tonight is high above the falls at Skylon Tower for more amazing Falls views and great food! And the Illumination!
*** We will not be returning to our hotel until the end of our day. Due to the Niagara City Cruise, it is recommended to carry an extra jacket or sweater to keep dry and warm.
Day 3: Wednesday, October 2
After breakfast and checkout, we will head to the New York side of the Falls with our local guide.
We start our day with a visit to the Niagara Power Authority. Our self-guided tour will take us through the realm of harnessing electricity from the Niagara River.
We will spend time in Lewiston, a charming historic village known for its boutiques, restaurants and history. Our guide will tour us around a bit and then we will enjoy lunch on our own.
Following lunch, we head to Cave of the Winds. Experience the Falls up close as we ride an elevator 175 feet deep into the Niagara Gorge. We will follow a tour guide to the famous “Hurricane Deck” where you can see the billowing torrents of Bridal Veil Falls. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can stand as close as twenty feet from the rush of water.
This evening we will check into the Holiday Inn by the Falls. From here we can walk to the Falls, the Casino, and many restaurants. Dinner is on our own tonight.
Day 4: Thursday, October 3
Start your day with breakfast at our hotel, check out and then it’s just a short drive to our first stop of the day.
The Herschell Carousel Museum is sure to take you on a trip down memory lane with the sight of hand carved wooden carousels, the sounds of the Wurlitzers and even a ride on one of their carousels.
Next up is the Platter Chocolate factory tour – home of North Tonawanda’s favorite chocolate, Carl Platter’s orange chocolate. Of course we will enjoy some chocolate tastings!
Lunch is on our own en route to home.
